LEGAL INSIGHT
WORKSHOP
WHY NOT LAW?
A free 90 minute virtual legal insight workshop for schools that changes young people’s perceptions of who can have a career in law and increases their understanding of the routes into law. For students aged 12–14, delivered at a time that works for your school.
Discovering the world of law
Social mobility cold spots are defined as those areas where social mobility is poor. Now, more than ever, young people in these areas need the opportunity to hear about career options and begin to believe that law is a viable one for them.
With the support of our members, we are delivering virtual ‘Why not Law?’ workshops to students at schools in these areas, changing their perceptions of who can have a career in law and increasing their understanding of the routes into law.
“My favourite part was learning about how to get into law because I now know the ways I can do it.”
Student
“I thought it worked very well. Excellent use of guest speakers from the North East of England.”

Who is the workshop for?
If your school is in a social mobility cold spot* and interested in having a workshop delivered to students aged 12–14, register your interest here.
*As well as being located in a social mobility cold spot, when selecting schools to work with we look at other measures such as the proportion of students claiming free school meals, attainment levels and the level of progression to higher education. This ensures that we reach students most in need of the opportunity.
